THE ANIMAL ALLIANCE NEEDS YOU!

Want to turn your vision of no more homeless animals in our community into a reality?  Join us!  Here are a few ways you can get involved:

EVENTS, EVENTS, EVENTS!

Spring, summer, fall, and even winter are full of events!  Enthusiastic, energetic volunteers help with table set-up and tear down, and best of all, they share a life-saving message with the public!

FUNDRAISING

It takes money to make the dream of a high-volume, low-income spay/neuter clinic come true!  Could you research or write a grant?  Drum up corporate sponsorships?  Connect with media to advertise our clinic and events? Distribute flyers and posters?  Dream up or organize or help with a fundraiser?

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

As the reality of our high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic grows nearer, we must build relationships with and encourage the participation of those who live and work where the need is most pressing.  Speaking informally with church groups, school organizations, community centers, food pantries, social service providers, civic organizations, local merchants, and local government representatives will be crucial to build trust and gain community support.

If you enjoy face-to-face informal contact with neighbors, this might be just the job for you.  While we will begin by focusing on inner-city neighborhoods, we intend to serve all income-eligible residents within Onondaga and surrounding counties.

Community outreach can even include small, targeted campaigns to get dogs vaccinated—or licensed.  Interested in planning or executing that project?  Talk to us!

PAPERWORK, PAPERWORK, PAPERWORK

Newsletters, flyers, reports, mailers, leaflets… Composing, filing, printing, designing, distributing… At nearly every turn there’s a need to manage paper.  Sound like something you’d like to help with?

AAGS members attend court hearings of all city animal abuse cases, as well as many cases heard in town courts. Our Court Watchers sit quietly and respectfully in support of the victimized animal.  Via a polite, concise note to the judge, we make our advocacy known.  AAGS’ silent presence at these cases has been duly noted by the court, the legal system, and law enforcement. Join us in attending hearings to bear witness for the animals!
